On September 9, 2026, the EPA launched a comprehensive series of resilience and emergency preparedness training modules for water and wastewater utility staff. This program is designed to help facilities comply with critical Safe Drinking Water Act mandates, specifically those requiring rigorous Risk and Resilience Assessments and Emergency Response Plans. The curriculum addresses both physical infrastructure vulnerabilities and the increasing threat of cyberattacks against supervisory control and data acquisition systems. Participants, including certified operators and utility superintendents, can earn continuing education credits toward their professional licensing requirements through this training.
